No, the internet is not required to play the KotOR series. KOTOR is a great game but has aged quite a bit. I recomend to play it the same way you can watch a classic movie or read a classic book. Star Wars the Old Republic has unwarranted bad reputation from the early days and is worth playing in The Xbox shipped with backward compatibility, which allows it to play many of the games made for its predecessor.
