Sherlock holmes why is it pg13
Kid, 12 years old July 22, Positive role models. Kid, 10 years old April 26, It had plenty of violence but not crazy amounts of gun shooting a few scenes went crazy with the violence sword and gun fights.
In those scenes some blood was shown. The whole movie was really dark! The criminal dealt with magic and tortured people! There was also a few sex scenes and a few scenes had brief partial nudity!
Common Sense missed the word t-t for language! There was also one use of da-n, and one use of hell. Not that bad but I would put 2 or 3 out of 5. There was also some drinking. My MPAA rating for this movie is PG for sequences of action violence, brief partial nudity, drinking, and some language.
Slightly boring Great movie but can be slightly boring! There is a use of T-t that common sense missed. Teen, 17 years old Written by adam the onest February 16, Kid, 11 years old August 5, Great Fun This version of Sherlock, played out as though it where a superhero movie, pared with an intelligent plot and great comedic moments is great fun for tweens and and adults alike, although there are a few things I would be aware of: the amount sexual content is kept very low, Sherlock is very briefly seen handcuffed naked to a bed, but his crotch is covered and the scene is played for comedic affect, other than that there is some minor flirting and kissing, a women undresses her back is briefly shown.
The violence in this film is what you should be more weary of, bloody hand to hand action scenes are played in slow motion with detail to every injury and guns, knives, tazers and poisens are used. Characters are shown dead in coffins with maggots, burning alive, and hanging from a noose, all of which instances are shown for a decent period of time.
A mans body melts into his bathtub water, although the scene lasts, little is shown. Frogs are shown briefly with their chests melted open due to a chemical reaction and one scene takes place in a slaughter house the carcasses and heads of pigs are shown which may be frightening to younger viewers.
There is some drinking, Sherlock sometimes becomes drunk and characters smoke. Very minor bad language. Teen, 16 years old Written by Kaushik M. December 25, Amazing intelligence The mind-blowing intelligence and power of supernatural deduction of Sherlock Holmes will leave movie watchers mouth-opened.
Additionally, the silent and verbal comedy scenes are also great. Teen, 14 years old Written by Aksel November 14, Teen, 15 years old Written by The age judge July 30, Teen, 15 years old Written by Breaden Hoffmaster October 16, Robert Downey Jr.
Sherlock Holmes is the classic film of the century! Downey and Law are perfect as the crime-solving detective duo, and this movie hits the mark. It's in victorian London, and Holmes is currently on the case of a strange killer who claims he has the power to take over the world.
Holmes walked about with his ridding-crop, smokes his pipe, plays the violin, and of course solves crimes. His deduction is displayed as he figures out unnoticed clues, and he often quotes the books of Arthur Connan Doyle throughout the film. Being a detective, Holmes often has to inspect maggot ridden corpses, dead bodies, and drowned men in bathtubs, but he uses his wit and skill in deduction to figure out the case and bring them to justice with the law.
This movie is violent, but most of the action occurs in slow motion, making a punch to the ribs, more painful then in most PG films. The scene is played for laughs, and is harmful, and will most likely make you laugh until you fall off you chair. Even his trusty sidekick Watson Jude Law packs a punch as the pair takes on a criminal mastermind with world domination ambitions.
Why is Sherlock Holmes rated PG? Run Time: minutes. Now, with a Hollywood makeover, he is also one of the scrappiest. Revealing fighting abilities that would leave even Bond a little shaken and stirred, Holmes Robert Downey Jr. Joining him is his cohort Dr. Watson Jude Law , who is more ninja than physician.
Yet, even behind bars Lord Blackwood Mark Strong is managing to wreck havoc. So much so they have had to evacuate the other prisoners that allege he has taken control of their minds and caused a guard to go into medical distress.
Holmes takes this rather supernatural statement seriously, and the game is afoot. Combined with undocumented fighting skills perhaps with the hopes of keeping 21st Century film audiences amused , our hero can even slow down time and methodically consider every body part he should hammer in order to slay his opponent.
The result is a one-two punch as we see the brutal hits in slo-mo and then in rapid release. Not to be outdone, Watson offers other skills to keep the duo from harm, and pistols are involved in some confrontations.
These violent encounters throughout the film will be the greatest issue for parents. Thankfully, profane language is nearly non-existent, with only one mild profanity noted. Sexual content is also relatively minimal. Cautiously suitable for older teens, this production will do little to fill the inexperienced in on the real Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is rated PG by the MPAA for intense sequences of violence and action, some startling images and a scene of suggestive material.
