Why freebsd
It is designed in such a manner that new algorithms and techniques can be added to newer versions without losing backward compatibility. ZFS is able to handle everything from the permissions on a file, to tracking which blocks from which storage provider contain the information. ZFS is truly the best file system for data security, scalability, and flexibility. It can meet your needs, whatever they might be, it allows you, without too much complexity, to partition your data according to your needs and workloads.
You can easily add additional storage in the additional disks. The data is stored with up to triple redundancy in order to ensure that individual component failures will not interrupt your workload or damage your data. FreeBSD offers many unique features. It is highly customizable, so that you can customize it as per whatever your requirements are. Between the advantages of the software platform and the OS, and the licensing coming with it, you can build strong, resilient, licensing-friendly products and environments.

Its focus on performance, networking, and storage, its ease of system administration, and its overall integration are features that make it the right choice for many applications.

Hello everyone. I currently have Linux Debian. The things I do pretty much are programming and digital art when I feel like it , I don't really play games so gaming isn't important to me.

If there were few issues with hardware drivers, all of them I have managed to solve through google, forum or by trying some workarounds by myself. With new versions of kernel comes also more HW drivers.
Some of calls or confs which I need to attend are provided in this environment. There are also usage variations--FreeBSD just "feels" nicer than Linux when we use and administer it. On the other hand, the majority of popular graphical applications for FreeBSD are originally written for Linux, and some are slower than others in being ported to FreeBSD.
If you want the latest version of your favorite app and you want it yesterday, Linux allows you to live life on the bleeding edge moreso than FreeBSD.
Still, most major applications make their way to FreeBSD in very little extra time, and most of us using FreeBSD prefer stability over getting the latest new feature immediately. It is also not free, and will only run on Apple hardware which is more expensive than comparable PC hardware. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft. Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux kernel.
