All they have to do is aim for the ground and miss Genghis12 , Sep 27, Registered: Jul 30, They can and have, Luke for instance walks on the lava flies , Luke flies down from his exploding X-Wing in Courtship of Princess Leia, Luke was flown by the Emperor's force storm etc They just have X-wings and stuff that usually makes this redundant Can the pathetic comments, these are pretty good scenes.

Registered: Apr 8, They probably couldn't really "fly", but instead, sort of hover over the ground for a short period of time Registered: Jun 22, They can.
The closest we get to see, though, is Anakin's controlled fall in AotC. Sturm Antilles , Sep 27, Registered: Sep 24, I thougt they CAN fly Myaha , Sep 27, Registered: Apr 3, I don't know how odd this will sound.
When we look at it logically we see Yoda lifting heavy objects twice now. If he wanted to he could have levitated Luke and such. The only way to explain away the idea of being able to lift yourself might be analogous to a weightlifter. But not weak enough for Anakin to block in the air? Anakin was cocky, and no, throwing an object and flying aren't the same thing. Well most of his concentration is devoted to keeping himself in the air, so More topics from this board I still cant believe the Jedi couldnt see order 66 coming.

What is stopping them? Perhaps it requires constant energy and concentration and is dangerous since you could lose focus and fall. Yet Force Users are experts at slowing their falls… Maybe the act of flying creates wind resistance that can hurt a sentient being while moving and may very well cut them to pieces when they decelerate?
